1. Background
Crawfish Himalayan Limited (CHL) is a newly established aquaculture company in Bhutan engaged in the farming, production, and commercialization of premium crawfish and crawfish fries using modern aquaculture systems. CHL aims to pioneer sustainable aquaculture in Bhutan while creating market demand domestically and internationally for crawfish products and related aquaculture services and equipment.
To support its growth and expansion strategy, CHL seeks to recruit a dynamic and experienced Sales, Marketing and Business Development Manager to lead market creation, sales growth, strategic partnerships, branding, and business expansion initiatives in Bhutan and neighboring regional markets, particularly India.
2. Position Objective
The Sales, Marketing and Business Development Manager shall be responsible for:
- Creating and expanding market demand for crawfish and crawfish-related products;
- Developing domestic and export markets for crawfish fries and harvested crawfish;
- Establishing strategic partnerships and commercial opportunities;
- Exploring new business opportunities related to aquaculture and aquaculture equipment;
- Supporting the long-term commercial sustainability and growth of CHL.
The position will play a critical role in positioning CHL as a leading aquaculture brand in Bhutan and the region.
3. Key Roles and Responsibilities
A. Sales and Market Development
- Develop and implement sales strategies for crawfish fries, harvested crawfish, and related products in Bhutan and export markets.
- Create market demand for crawfish among:
- High-end hotels;
- Restaurants;
- Resorts;
- Catering businesses; and
- The general population in Bhutan.
- Identify and establish sales channels and distribution networks within Bhutan and neighboring Indian states.
- Conduct customer outreach, product presentations, tasting events, promotional campaigns, and awareness programs to introduce crawfish products to potential buyers and consumers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with:
- Hotels;
- Restaurants;
- Retailers;
- Food distributors;
- Seafood importers; and
- Institutional buyers.
- Achieve sales targets and revenue objectives established by CHL management.
B. Export Market Development
- Explore and develop markets for crawfish fries and harvested crawfish in India and other potential export destinations.
- Identify suitable neighboring Indian states and regional markets with demand potential for aquaculture products.
- Liaise with importers, distributors, wholesalers, and government agencies related to export facilitation.
- Coordinate export-related documentation, regulatory compliance, certifications, logistics, and customer requirements.
- Participate in trade fairs, exhibitions, business forums, and networking events to promote CHL products internationally.
C. Marketing and Branding
- Develop and implement CHL’s marketing and branding strategy.
- Position CHL as a premium and sustainable aquaculture brand from Bhutan.
- Manage CHL’s marketing channels including:
- Social media;
- Website;
- Advertising campaigns;
- Brochures;
- Product catalogues; and
- Promotional materials.
- Develop public awareness campaigns to educate consumers on crawfish products, nutrition, culinary applications, and sustainability benefits.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and customer preferences.
D. Pricing and Commercial Strategy
- Develop and recommend pricing strategies for:
- Crawfish fries;
- Harvested crawfish;
- Export products; and
- Related services/products.
- Conduct pricing analysis considering:
- Production cost;
- Market demand;
- Competitor pricing;
- Logistics cost; and
- Profitability objectives.
- Regularly review pricing structures and recommend revisions based on market conditions.
E. Business Development Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with CHL’s strategic objectives.
- Develop strategic partnerships with:
- Hotels and hospitality chains;
- Seafood distributors;
- Aquaculture companies;
- Government agencies;
- Research institutions; and
- International partners.
- Explore opportunities for diversification into:
- Aquaculture equipment supply;
- Technical consultancy;
- Training services;
- Franchise or partnership models; and
- Other aquatic species or related agribusiness ventures.
- Explore market opportunities for aquaculture equipment in Bhutan and India, including:
- Hatchery systems;
- Aeration systems;
- Water filtration systems;
- Tanks and pond equipment;
- Feed systems; and
- Aquaculture inputs.
- Identify potential suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and customers for aquaculture equipment and related technologies.
- Prepare business proposals, partnership proposals, investment presentations, and commercial agreements as required.
- Support fundraising, investor engagement, and strategic expansion initiatives where required.
- Conduct feasibility assessments and market studies for future expansion projects and commercial ventures.
F. Stakeholder and Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, business partners, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal departments to align production, logistics, and sales activities.
- Represent CHL professionally during meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and stakeholder engagements.
4. Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, International Business, Aquaculture, Agriculture, or related field.
- Master’s Degree (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 5 years plus of relevant experience in sales, marketing, business development, or commercial operations.
- Experience in food products, seafood, aquaculture, agriculture, or export-oriented businesses is preferred.
- Experience in Indian or regional export markets is an advantage.
6. Remuneration and Benefits:
Monthly Gross Pay of Nu. 75,725 and other benefits as per CHL’s pay structure.
